- Kid-Friendly Dentistry: We expect kids to be kids, not little adults, and value every child’s unique personality. Dr. Lacour and our clinical team take all the time needed to learn how to approach each patient and gain their trust. If that means sitting on the floor and chatting about princesses and superheroes, then that’s what we’ll do! Once the child knows we’re safe, then we patiently walk them through what we’re going to do, using kid-friendly terms. Showing the tools we’re going to use, talking about what they will feel, and answering each and every single question, alleviates a fear of the unknown!
- Our Doctor: After finishing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, Dr. Lacour decided to pursue her passion of caring for children with a two-year pediatric dentistry residency. This specialized education, at the LSU School of Dentistry and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, included training in: special needs patients, pediatric sedation, hospital dentistry, preventive care, and behavior modification. Along with her clinical skills, Dr. Lacour is a mother who cares for each young patient as her own: gently, patiently, and always attentive to the little’s safety and comfort.
- Our Team: Our team is very experienced at working with children. Sharing Dr. Lacour’s commitment to caring for kids and their families as part of our family, we ensure worry-free visits. As we only see children, we are used to handling a vast array of behaviors and demeanors. We approach each little one with the common thought, “How can I provide a positive and educational experience?” and then cater the visit to meet that goal!
